Delta's Design Services
Delta has developed considerable expertise in the layout and design of galley and living quarters. From its own hands-on experience, Delta can advise clients on what equipment stands up best, the optimal amount of storage space to plan for, and the most efficient layout of serving lines and galleys, etc.

This attention to detail extends to performing many small, but important tasks for clients, such as color-coordinating linens and furnishings and selecting decor items to make their offshore facilities as attractive and hospitable as possible. Recent design projects have included:

  • Modification and design of living quarters for Shell and BP Deep Water Production projects
  • Galley/Dining Area layout for the Transocean drillship DISCOVERER ENTERPRISE, SPIRIT and DEEP SEAS

Delta does not aspire to being the largest caterer, it chooses to focus its resources on serving a limited number of customers well - customers who place a premium on quality service and who recognize Delta's ability to meet their needs. It is Delta's goal to be the paramount provider of top quality food and products, and to employ personnel skilled in the management of food service operations at large, high profile offshore projects. Providing catering and support services for Gulf of Mexico locations is a competitive undertaking. The reputation that Delta has acquired over the years is testimony to its success in achieving that goal.


 
Delta catering was founded in 1972 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana to provide catering labor, groceries and supplies for the rapidly expanding oil and gas industry operating in the Mississippi River Delta region of Louisiana. In 1980 Delta became female-owned and in 1983 acquired certification as a "Women's Business Enterprise" (WBE). Since then, it has experienced steady and deliberate growth.

Delta works exclusively in the Gulf of Mexico region and focuses its efforts on servicing a small number of customers. Its unique reputation has been developed by providing dedicated, superior service to its clients. Delta's offshore employees are among the highest paid in the offshore catering industry and the food and products it supplies are of the finest quality.

The production and drilling companies with whom Delta has developed business relationships have expressed strong interest in working with Delta to establish the highest standards for quality catering services in the Gulf of Mexico.

Delta's success is due in no small part to its focus on safety and training resulting in an outstanding safety record.


 
CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP

In December 2002, Marcia Marney acquired the controlling stock of Delta Catering, partnering with Sodexho Alliance. The ownership change has not impacted Delta's operational structure. Existing managers and employees remain with Delta - many of them long-term employees. Some of the committed resources that allow Delta to maintain quality service include:
